VIDEO: Shari’ah Council asks FG, INEC to hold presidential, guber, other polls same day

The Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria (SCSN) has pleaded on the federal government, especially the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hold all polls the same day in view of the challenging security situation across the country.
Spokesman of the Council made the call during its meeting held on Monday in an undisclosed place.
According to the spokesman, all polls, including the presidential, governorship, National and State House of Assemblies’ election should be held same day to reduce the chances of security emergences which may double if the elections would hold as planned on two separate days.
He recalled that for President Goodluck Jonathan was prevailed upon to shift the election date over security challenges and asked President Muhammadu Buhari and INEC to follow suit.
Neither the federal government nor INEC has responded to the call.
