The Spokesman to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Campaign Organisation, Barr. Daniel Bwala, has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, may be disqualified from the 2023 race when the case of drug trafficking allegation and the consequent forfeiture of $460,000 gets to court.

Barr. Bwala made the remarks when he appeared on “Politics Today”, a Channels Television political analysis programme.

Bwala, after a thorough analysis of the case, concluded that Tinubu may be disqualified from the presidential race.

The former Lagos governor has been in the eye of the storm following his role in an early 1990s drug trafficking case in Chicago.

Mr Tinubu’s allies have also made efforts to downplay the matter entirely as a trivial distraction to Nigeria’s democratic experience because it happened decades ago.

But Nigerians have insisted that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress should come clean on his involvement in the case, which saw him forfeit up to $460,000 to the U.S. authorities in 1993.
