The substantive National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Edozie Njoku, has lauded Justice Mohammed Madugu of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court 40 sitting in Bwari, Abuja, over his judgement that held the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, and the embattled erstwhile National Chairman of APGA, Ozo Victor Ike Oye, guilty of contempt of court.

Chief Njoku made the remarks during a televised media parley with journalists held in his personal office in Abuja on Friday, November 10, 2023.

It could be recalled that News Band reported on November 9, 2023, that Justice Madugu established beyond reasonable doubt that Chief Oye and Prof. Mahmood flagrantly disobeyed the Court’s order as ruled on May 10, 2023, which is an abuse of court.

According to the report, the Court gave Oye and Mahmood 14 days to purge themselves of Contempt Charges or be committed to prison.

An elated Njoku, while speaking to newsmen, said the judge was objective in the judgment despite ordering the he (Njoku) be detained in Suleja Prison for two days.

He was also full of praises for the current Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Honourable Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf.

A certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgment will be published as soon as it is obtained next week.
