Oasis is a small fertile or green area in a desert region, usually having a spring or well. It is one of the wonders of nature, that in an arid and severely uninhabitable desert land, a calm serene green area that supports life is found. Oasis is thus the only hope of survival for famished desert animals.

Since Hon. Solomon Izuchukwu Onah took over as the executive chairman of Udenu LGA, the people have enjoyed peace and calmness amidst chronic insecurity plaguing the country and which has encroached into her neighbouring towns. Bordered by three wary local government areas to the south and north, Udenu has been a proverbial oasis of peace and safety.

With Isi Uzo LGA, Okpokwu LGA (border community to Udenu in Benue axis), Igbo Eze North LGA, all embroiled in flashes of insecurity incidents; is it not miraculous that Udenu is at peace with itself.

Yes, security is of divine. But God uses the instrumentality of willing human hands to bring about his impeccable design. The Mayor of Udenu — Hon. Jack Solo had volunteered his “hands” for this sublime divine project.

Part of Labour Party’s bragging slogan is that “no successful bank robbery took place in Anambra throughout Peter Obi’s reign as governor.” Though some critics attributed it to the chills that followed Bakassi Boys’ operation which lasted almost a decade after they’re gone, he nevertheless deserve the commendation.

Here in Udenu, in the current Nigeria’s gnashy reality, we have a Jack Solo who has pulled more tranquility within his territory than any other man ever.

Though is not given chasing clout; but he doesn’t take his people’s mandate for granted.

Though he is a candidate (most preferred) for House of Assembly seat, he doesn’t allow it distract him from the subsisting executive mandate in his hands. His best manifesto is what he, has done, and still doing.

Infact, he is currently a foreshadowing of John 5:17. He had worked… And he is still working. During this Christmas holiday, he commissioned several projects including a 1.5KM road in Amalla, constructed by Chief Emmanuel Odoh — Odogwu Awka, who is one of the sons of the community. The young man publicly confessed that his friends from other Igbo states could not visit their own homes because of insecurity. But Jack Solo has made Udenu safe and secure that he could come in anytime of the day to construct that road. He praised Jack Solo for providing an enabling environment that encourage our people in diaspora to come home and invest in infrastructural development.

It’s only a selfish politician who would take his people’s electoral mandate for granted. Hon. Solomon doesn’t belong to that class. If you think he just woke up and Udenu became secured, you’re wrong. He achieved it through a well-thought out grassroot security plan that God granted His imprimatur, and it worked.

Udenu have had several Chairmen, but Solomon has raised the bar to enviable height! A vote for him in the coming election is a vote for more people-oriented policy formulation and strict implementation via robust legislative actions.
