Barely two weeks after troops shot dead a notorious bandits’ informant, popularly known as Malam Goma, in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State, another notorious bandits’ informant, identified Juwoli, has been shot dead by troops in Taka-Lafiya village in the same LGA.

Recall that residents of Janjala, a neighbouring village to Kagarko town, last week, raised alarm over the discovery of seven decomposing corpses in a forest said to be those of suspected bandits’ informants.

While confirming the latest killing of the informant through telephone to our reporter on Monday, Ibrahim Yakubu, a resident, said the suspect met his death during a clearance operation around the Janjala/Gidan Makeri/Taka-Lafiya forest on Saturday.

He explained that residents of Taka-Lafiya had been suspecting the suspect over kidnappings around the village and alerted troops stationed in the community.

While noting that the suspected informant escaped last week when troops invaded Taka-Lafiya, he said, “Not until on Saturday around 3pm when the troops returned while raiding some areas and got him. He escaped towards the forest and the troops trailed him and opened fire on him.”

Recall that Janjala, Iddo, Taka-Lafiya, Gidan Makeri, Kuku, Doguwa and other villages in Kagarko Chiefdom have been under attacks by bandits for some months.

There was no response from the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command over the incident as at the time of filing this report.
