The All Progressives Congress [APC] national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly taken the effort to oust Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to the presidency in Abuja.

Party loyalists, especially loyalists to Asiwaju, who himself was a former governor of the state, accompanied Sanwoolu during collection of nomination form at the Lagos APC secretariat.

Tinubu is said to be against Ambode’s re-election bid in 2019 over some undisclosed differencies, though Ambode denied the rift.

It was however reported that the governor had rallied Abuja for support after his rejection by party leaders in Lagos.

A source in the presidency who spoke with Daily Independent said he is hopeful that the crisis between Tinubu and his estranged godson would be amicably resolved after the meeting with the president.

Confirming the incident, Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation posted on his Twitter handle as shown below:

Meanwhile,

In a statement, Ayinde said that Sanwoolu’s formal declaration will happen shortly followed by his rally.

The Campaign Organisation stated that it remains  focused on its  objectives and will not be distracted by unfounded rumours and insinuations.

It also thanked all APC members in Lagos for their overwhelming support.
