The people’s verdict: In Ifeanyi Ubah we trust! ~ by Chuks Kamen
A new phenomenon on the rise in the political hemisphere of Anambra State; Young Progressives Party (YPP) is the new bride
Sixteen years ago, Ndi Anambra went for a then unknown party – APGA, which was driven by the Late Ikemba Chief Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu and made a loud statement of endorsement, while rejecting then the ruling party as a result of its below par performance that later snowballed into insecurity, kidnap of a sitting governor, etc.
Today ,16 years after , and in the midst of insecurity concerns and infrastructural deficit in the State, the story is about to change once again as we arrive at a similar scenario akin to that of 2005.
Today the general feeling is that the time to try another vehicle for the next phase of the State’s development has come again.
For the first time in the history of politicking in the State, the people trooped out en masse to receive their son, Ikemba Ifeanyichukwu Ubah without any form of mobilisation or inducement as is usually done in political rallies.
Members of the various structures working for the enthronement of the Open Door Revolution were overwhelmed registering new entrants on the fields while they await the arrival of Distinguished Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah at the various venues of the Declaration Tours.
The same success story in Aguata was replicated from Anyamelum to Aguleri, Ogbaru, Awka North and South, Ihiala and in practically every Local Government Area visited.
The masses made a resounding statement.
“A new Anambra is coming with Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah” they chorused.
While the opposition goes in search of individual/godfather endorsements, Ndi Anambra has in the last two weeks gone ahead to once again endorse the new Ikemba, Nwa Onye Nkuzi from Nnewi.
He has the mandate to drive the next phase of development for the State having watched him stand out as one-man army while practically displaying his love for his people.
A man who grabbed the bull by the horn in trying times as seen during the COVID-19 pandemic and the EndSARS protests in Anambra.
The #OpenDoorRevolution train has indeed taken off!
