The Islamic Movement of Nigeria has announced that the Sect will embark on a peaceful demonstration in Abuja on the 10th of September 2020. The demonstration is expected to proceed from the Unity Forum near the Three Arms area but most likely to proceed through Federal Secretariat area as well as, and end at the National Assembly Complex. 9am has been slated as the time for the peaceful demonstration.

However, in their usual ways of beating security forces, they may come out simultaneously in small groups and later converge at the Unity Forum area as a bigger group from the following places: Berger Round about, Area one, Kubwa and Nyanya axis.

Given past demonstrations and their violent turnout with the security forces, church members have been advised as follows:

• Monitor the news before leaving your house on Thursday, September, 10, 2020
• Avoid the above stated areas.
• Review movement plans within Abuja on that day.
• Ensure you are in possession of personal identification details at all times.
• Be calm and polite when dealing with security officials.

The government may attempt to stop the demonstration considering the recent reported threats of Bokoharam attacks in Abuja. This decision if taken, will possibly infuriate the Sect and this may lead to eventual violent altercation between the Sect and government security forces. Consequently, if you have to stay home, it will be a wise decision in the light of recent unfolding events.
