Soludo owes Anambra Airport workers 10 months’ salary, airport in total mess — Source
Staff of the Anambra State International Cargo and Passenger Airport have raised alarm that the State Government led by Professor Charles Chukwuma Soldows them up to ten months’ salary arrears, according to reports available to News Band.
An anonymous whistleblower had ab initio revealed to this medium that “Anambra airport workers are being owed about 7 months’ salary” (sic).
According to the source, the failed salary structure has left the airport in “a total mess” as the customized security outfit at the airport has not been paid”.
The source alleged that criminals are having a field day vandalizing the gadgets at the airport while trying to eke out a living.
He lamented that the airport is one of the prides of Anambra State, being the only project constructed by the erstwhile administration of Mr. Willie Obiano for 8 years.
He warned that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) may shut the airport down unless the State Government led by Professor Soludo acts quickly save the situation.
The lamentation prompted this medium into an investigation to ascertain the veracity of the claim, and the investigation revealed that workers are owed for an unspecified number of months.
A certain Ms. Eucharia Okoye, a wailer from Anambra State Airport, while responding to an inquiry over the state of affairs at the airport, said that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is a “sadist who vowed to kill Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport” and insisted that the unpaid salaries are not 7, but 10 months.
She noted that the security is at zero level at the Airport and in the entire state, stressing that garbage has taken over the state.
According to her, residents of Anambra State are regretting massively voting for Professor Charles Soludo as the Airport is dying slowly due to Governor Soludo’s “wicked attitude towards the infrastructure and her workers”.
Going down memory lane she narrated: “This problem started immediately Soludo took over power and wanted Anambra State Ministry of Transport to take over the management of the airport but the Airport management educated him that Airports in Nigeria are under the Aviation Ministry.
“He was told that NCAA will close the airport if Anambra Ministry of Transport takes over the airport.
“Subsequently, the ‘Emperor’, Gov Soludo, proposed that the salary of the Airport staff be slashed to forty thousand Naira and again the Airport management educated him on the standard of remuneration and salary payment set by FAAN and Anambra Airport can’t be an exemption.
“Since Governor Soludo could not impose his wicked wish against the staff of the Airport, he has abandoned the Airport and its staff with no salary in the last 10 months.
“He is currently owing the Airport staff ten months’ salaries. He has also refused to pay the customized security outfit at the airport for months.
“Obiano was paying the security outfit one hundred thousand Naira monthly.
“Today, Criminals are vandalizing the Airport’s runway and stealing gadgets and equipment at the airport that costs the state millions of naira. It is obvious that he wants NCAA to close the airport because he is not the one that built the edifice.
“Governor Soludo ‘the Emperor’ does not care about the lives, welfare and wellbeing of Ndi Anambra. Criminals have taken over the state.
“Ndi Anambra are being kidnapped and raped daily. lives are lost every day and the Emperor does not give a hoot.
“On a daily basis, as I transport from Onitsha to the airport, my heart bleeds as one sees dead bodies and refuse everywhere. The President General of Obosi was killed just some weeks ago.
“It is obvious that when a sadist is on the throne, the masses mourn.
“Ndi Anambra, Soludo has happened to us, we should use our PVC in the upcoming election and put him where he belongs.
“I have never seen such incompetent leadership in my entire life as onye Anambra,” she wailed.
News Band reached out to the Senior Special Assistant on Media to Soludo, Mr. Christian Aburime, for his reaction to the allegations levelled against his principal but he is yet to respond as at the moment of this publication.
