The management of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has wielded the big stick against a male lecturer, Mr Mfonobong David Udoudom who was allegedly caught pants down while trying to engage in sexual intercourse with a married student.

Recall that in a viral video, the married lecturer was seen in short, moving around agitatedly as he was being interrogated by some men suspected to be the school’s security operatives.

Mr David is said to be a lecturer in the School of General Studies of the institution.

Meanwhile, the management of the institution in a statement signed by its spokesman, Okwun Omeaku, said the randy lecturer has been suspended indefinitely pending the outcome of a disciplinary panel constituted by the University to investigate the ugly incident.

The image maker of the institution stressed that the University of Nigeria has a zero tolerance for sexual misconducts involving it’s staff and students.

“UNN is among the few universities in the country that has a Sexual Harassment Policy, which guides the relationship between our staff and students in particular and among our male and female staff”, Mr Okwun said.

The statement reads, “The management of the University of Nigeria has suspended Mr (not a Professor) Mfonobong David Udoudom, a lecturer in our General Studies division, who was caught in a video allegedly harassing a female student.

“The indefinite suspension is with immediate effect pending the outcome of a disciplinary panel constituted by the University to investigate the incident.

“For the records, the University of Nigeria has a zero tolerance for sexual misconducts involving our staff and students. UNN is among the few universities in the country that has a Sexual Harassment Policy, which guides the relationship between our staff and students in particular and among our male and female staff.

“As a university, we are committed to protecting our students from any form of abuse and exploitation, and the University Management will not hesitate to punish Mr Mfonobong David Udoudom, according to our rules, if he is found guilty by our disciplinary panel”.
