Sanwo-Olu affirms commitment to housing development at NIESV ceremony

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to housing and urban development.

He emphasized that these efforts play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents across the state.

During the 31st Annual John Wood Ekpenyong Memorial Lecture, Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to housing became particularly evident. Represented by Barrister ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, Secretary to the State Government, he highlighted significant achievements over the past five years.

Moreover, the Governor pledged to deliver more affordable housing projects before his tenure ends. He underscored his commitment to sustainable urban planning and development throughout this vital process.

The Governor praised President ESV Victor Alonge, emphasizing his role in fostering collaboration between the NIESV and Lagos State Government. He acknowledged NIESV’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s real estate sector, highlighting its broader economic impact on the state.

Additionally, the Governor emphasized that this year’s lecture theme, “Repositioning Tenement Rate Administration for Broader Economic Development,” aligns perfectly. This alignment supports the state’s vision for enhanced urban management, which is crucial for sustainable growth.

Furthermore, in recognition of his infrastructure development efforts, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude for receiving the Award of Excellence from NIESV. He also praised Senate President Dr. Godswill Akpabio for being named an Honorary Fellow of NIESV while commending the 52 newly inducted Fellows.

The Governor praised each individual’s contributions to the real estate profession, acknowledging their impact on national development.

The event attracted various distinguished personalities, including Senate Leader Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele and several National Assembly members. In attendance were also the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, along with other esteemed royal fathers from across the region.

Alhaji Umaru Mutallab served as the Father of the Day, adding further prestige to the occasion.
