sajohThe newly sworn in commissioner of information Adamawa state, comrade Ahmad Sajoh has promised to turn around the fortunes of state owned media outfits noting that the current state of the media houses is unacceptable.

Sajoh who made the remark during the formal handing over ceremony at the ministry yesterday noted that long years of neglect and quacks practicing have rendered the media outfits a mere shadow of themselves.

He noted that he has already drafted a blueprint on how to salvage the myriads of challenges he inherited in the ministry promising that he will work tirelessly to ensure that Adamawa citizens are well informed about government policy direction for for the success of the administration.

The commissioner noted that failure of past administrations to utilize the ministry well was responsible for the information gap between the leaders and the led adding that with him in charge, the gap will be closed.

Sajoh noted that under his leadership, workers welfare will receive adequate attention noting that for a long time, the welfare of media practitioners working for the state government have being toiled with as many of them after spending many years do not even have employment letters.

He advised staff of the ministry to tighten their belts for the onerous challenges under him noting that the era of nonchalant attitude to work is over promising to ensure reward for dedication to duty.

The commissioner also promised to embark on serious revenue generation drive as he noted that the ministry has the capacity to generate income if the surfeit of opportunities in the ministry are exploited.

Sajoh added that failure of the past leadership of the ministry to turn around its fortunes, was responsible for its neglect adding that once the viability of the ministry is felt, politicians will start according it its due premium in the scheme of things.

Earlier on, Permanent Secretary of the ministry Mr. Fenny Fwa has counseled the staff to face their jobs with a new vigor as the new commissioner has a phobia against lackluster attitude to work.

He urged all the staff to give the new commissioner the maximum support so that the lofty ideals he set for the ministry could come to fruition.
