[Felix Obuah, Rivers PDP chairman]
Credible report reaching me now reveals that unscrupulous Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] officials in Rivers State in connivance with Peoples
Democratic Party [PDP] agents are scheming to smuggle ballots and other materials into the INEC office in Port Harcourt to shore up the embarrassing shortfalls being experienced since inspection of materials began.
The used ballot papers available at the INEC are way too short of the humongous number of votes allocated to PDP candidates during the election, necessitating surreptitious moves to smuggle in more doctored ballots to shore up the embarrassing shortfalls.
So far, shortfalls of wide margins have been seen from ballots available to PDP candidates.
From the foregoing, very quick actions are demanded thus:
(a) The police and other security agents manning the gate of INEC office in Port Harcourt should take note of this development, and be on alert to bust the ignoble effort of electoral thieves who are bent on covering their illegal acts with more illegality.
In addition, all vehicles coming into the INEC office should be thoroughly searched.
(b) Members of APC who are on legitimate assignment in INEC office to say to the proper inspection of materials are enjoined to be very vigilant and report every attempt to smuggle in materials to security agents.
As much as possible, they should use any available electronic gadgets to capture any funny movement and exchanges of papers, etc.
(c) Concerted efforts must be made to know what those in the inner sanctum of INEC office are doing.
This will forestall the abominable plan of PDP to smuggle in materials.
