Rema donates N105m to Christ Embassy Church
Afrobeats star, Divine Ikubor, aka Rema, has repaid a branch of Christ Embassy in Benin, Edo State the kindness shown to him and his family by donating N105 million to the Church.
The magnanimous donation was announced during a visit to the church as part of his participation in the Edo@33 celebrations and a musical concert at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
He recalled how the church played an important role in his family’s life after the death of his father when he was just eight years old.
He said, “I am not here to seek any accolades but to give glory to God. I felt it was important to give back to the church that embraced my family, prayed for us, and supported us through a difficult period.”
The church led by Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, helped his mother by opening a shop for her, which enabled her to provide for the family.
Mr Rema expressed gratitude to the church for its guidance and support, especially for coming through for his family.
In recognition of this support, Rema pledged N40 million for the church’s infrastructural development, N20 million to the Rhapsody of Realities publication, and N25 million to the church’s teen ministry.
Additionally, he pledged N20 million to assist widows in attendance.
