David Coote, a Premier League referee, faced dismissal from PGMOL after they completed a thorough investigation into his conduct.

The investigation followed the emergence of unverified videos that allegedly showed him making derogatory remarks about former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The videos raised significant concerns about Coote’s professionalism and integrity while he served as a referee in Premier League matches.

The Football Association (FA) quickly launched a comprehensive investigation into Coote’s behavior after the videos gained public attention and scrutiny.

Their inquiry aimed to address the serious allegations and assess Coote’s suitability to officiate future matches in the league.

As a consequence of the investigation, PGMOL confirmed the immediate termination of Coote’s employment, highlighting serious repercussions from his actions.

“Following the conclusion of a thorough investigation into David Coote’s conduct, his employment with PGMOL has been terminated today with immediate effect.

David Coote’s actions were found to be in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract, with his position deemed untenable. Supporting David Coote continues to be important to us and we remain committed to his welfare.

David Coote has a right to appeal the decision to terminate his employment”

PGMOL emphasizes its commitment to high standards; therefore, it cannot tolerate such conduct among referees.

Coote has the right to appeal the decision, allowing him the opportunity to contest the findings of the investigation.

This appeal process enables Coote to defend himself and provide his perspective regarding the consequences of his actions taken.

Coote denied allegations about discussing a yellow card for Ezgjan Alioski with a friend prior to a Leeds match. He strongly rebuffed claims made by some UK news outlet, asserting that the allegations were both false and defamatory in nature.

Coote emphasized that personal matters have never influenced his decision-making, reaffirming his commitment to officiating with integrity and fairness.
