One thing about sloganeering governance is that it always portrays such government as a mere pieces of deceit in the eyes of the general public. When Gov Chukwuma Soludo’s immediate predecessor, Chief Willie Obiano began his administration with “Willie is Working” slogan, I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that he was going to make propaganda, lies and deceits a huge characteristics of his administration. And the Aguleri-born squander mania succeeded in doing just that.

After completing eight years of taking Anambra backwards in terms of developments, here entered his successor, Prof. Soludo who began in high spirits with multiple slogan from “The Soludo Solution” to “May Soludo Succeed”. If you check history records, you would discover that governors who float slogan often and always performed abysmally while in office. But anyway, if it’s not broken…, so let’s leave that aside.

In an interview on ChannelsTV with Seun Okunbaloye yesterday, the governor of Anambra State stated that the purported investments by HE Peter Obi is worth next to nothing.

Hear him: “By the way, the one you are talking about, I don’t know anything about it. I think there was something I read about somebody speculating about the value of whatever investment you talk about. But what I’ve seen today is that the value of those investments is worth next to nothing. So let’s leave that aside.”

Recall that few months ago, information was speculated that Gov. Soludo is allegedly working closely for the PDP presidential candidate, HE Atiku Abubakar, because Waziri Adamawa promised to make him president if he wins the next election.

It is now clear that the information is true. If it’s not true that the first class professor of Economics is working for Atiku to emerge the next president, even though he pretends to be supporting APGA, his party’s candidate; doesn’t he know that the huge tax running into hundred millions of naira which the investment generates for Anambra State government worths something?

If not for bitterness that he failed to emerge governor through the help of the LP presidential candidate, doesn’t the former CBN governor know that Value Added Tax, VAT which International Breweries pays in millions of naira and shared monthly by all the 36 states of the federation worths something?

If not for excessive envy that his predecessor is going to become the next president of Nigeria, doesn’t Soludo know that the value chain of the investment in the aspect of distributors, wholesalers and retailers worth something?

So in the mind of the Isuofia-born governor whose administration is currently milking poor Anambrians via exorbitant tax; the salaries of over 800 workers that have been working in the investment since 10 years ago worths nothing? Really? Interesting times!

By next year, as God has willed, the Anambra State governor shall hang the portrait of HE Peter Gregory Obi – the next president and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, FRN – in his office. Read more.
