Prof Adibe berates Buhari over call on journalists to report “patriotically”
Says "Nigerian government is untrustworthy and cant dictate what's good journalism"

Prof. Jideofor Adibe of Nasarawa State University has berated President Muhammadu Buhari following his recent call on journalists to report “patriotically” about Nigeria.
President Buhari had made the call in his speech during the 2021 World Press Freedom Day observed on Monday, May 3.
Speaking on Arise Television’s “Good Morning Show”, Prof Adibe said amongst other things that Nigerian government is untrustworthy, hence cannot dictate what good journalism is.
He, therefore, maintained that the Buhari administration is last on the rung of the ladder to determine or speak in defence of Freedom of Press.
