Private jet conveying VIPs crash-lands in Ibadan
A private jet conveying 10 people, including several VIPs, narrowly escaped disaster on Friday morning when it overshot the runway at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The plane, with registration number N580KR, skidded off the tarmac and into nearby bushes around 11:00 AM.
Firefighters and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were immediately drafted to the scene.
Though, there was no death or casualty recorded in the incident.
“It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty,” a spokesman for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Carol Adekotujo said.
