The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has disclosed that the controversial governor of Rivers State, Barrister Nyesom Wike came against him during the February 25 presidential election.

The former governor of Anambra State also lambasted those who claim the votes he got in Lagos were mainly from the Igbos.

Obi said this when he appeared on the Arise Television’s Morning Show program on Monday.

He said people of different ethnic extractions across the country voted for him during the February 25 presidential election.

“Some people said he got votes in Lagos because of Igbos. How many Igbos live in Lagos? I got more votes from indigenous people in Lagos than those you can call visitors. Is it Igbos who voted for me in Nasarawa, Plateau and Abuja? In Rivers where you know that the governor came out against me in everything if the real votes in Rivers were counted, I won more than 50% in the State,” Obi said.
