Eight presidential contenders in next month’s elections have unanimously stated that the president of Nigeria has no power to remove a Chief Justice of Nigeria.

This was made known during a presidential debate organized by Nigerian Youths Decide which held in Abuja on Saturday January 26th.

During a lightning round where contestants were tested for decisive leadership by answering in 5 seconds, each candidate was posed the question “does the president have the power to fire the Chief Justice of Nigeria?”

Turn by turn the candidates Tope Fasua ARNP, John Dara ASD, GDPN’s Davidson Isiborakhamien, YY Sani of ADP, Ayo Da-Silva of SNC, David Ize Iyamu of BNPP and Ali Soyede of YES overwhelmingly said “no” in response to the panelist, US-based International human rights lawyer Emmanuel Ogebe who represented Nigerians in Diaspora.
