President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Saturday, 11 January, to participate in the 2025 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2025).

This was disclosed in a statement by his spokesman, Chief Bayo Onanuga on Friday.

He said the summit, slated from January 12 to 18, is at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE.

“The Summit will bring together global leaders to accelerate sustainable development and advance socioeconomic progress,” the statement read.

Themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” the event aims to unite policymakers, business leaders, and civil society to explore strategies for transitioning to a sustainable economy and fostering global prosperity.

“ADSW, a testament to the power of collaboration, has been held annually for over 15 years. It provides a global platform to foster multi-stakeholder cooperation in addressing global challenges and accelerating growth,” the statement added.

“It has birthed high-value agreements and strategic partnerships between governments, industry leaders, and clean energy pioneers worldwide, driving impactful alliances and advancing the sustainability agenda worldwide.”

The summit will also serve as an opportunity for President Tinubu to stress his administration’s focus on reforms in energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development.

Onanuga further revealed in the statement that during the visit, Mr. Tinubu and his delegation will engage with UAE leaders to discuss mutual interests affecting both nations.

Also, accompanying the President on this trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials.

He is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
