US President Joe Biden has ruled out sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine despite Kiev insisting there should be no taboo over sending such aid.

Washington follows Germany’s similar refusal on Sunday when Chancellor Olaf Scholz said it “seemed frivolous” to discuss further military aid, having just committed to sending Leopard tanks.

Kiev has called for Western allies to form a “fighter jet coalition” to send European-made jets, while Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov is in Paris to discuss further aid with French officials.
