PPEs: Chinese Chamber of Commerce donates items

The Nigeria Police Force received Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) from the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, today, 25th June, 2020, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The donation of the PPEs is in recognition of the critical roles of the Nigeria Police Force in the ongoing efforts at curtailing and containing the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

The PPEs include 40,000 Disposable Surgical Masks, 500 Disposable Medical Protective Suite and 1 No. Infra-red Thermal Imaging Thermometer Unit.

The Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba received the PPEs on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, M. A Adamu.

The Inspector-General of Police thanked the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria for the kind gesture.

The IGP also called on other corporate and private groups to emulate the worthy gesture.

He assured that they will be duly distributed to personnel of the Force on the frontline of operations carrying out COVID-19 prevention/enforcement duties.

The President, China General Chamber of Commerce, Engr. Ye Shuijin was personally present during the presentation.

In his remarks, he  stated that the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria is made up of all major Chinese enterprises in Nigeria.

He noted that the Chamber acknowledges the frontline roles and importance of the Police.

He said the Police ensures enabling environment for ease of doing business in Nigeria, combating COVID-19 pandemic and generally, protecting lives and property in the country.

Also in attendance was​ the Force Medical Officer, DCP Paul Laki.

Others present were Senior Police Officers, Cui Guangzhen – Director General China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, Senior Colonel Liu Yougxuan – Chinese Defense Attache to Nigeria, amongst others.

So far, Covid-19 has claimed 543 lives in Nigeria as confirmed COVID19 cases hit 22,020 in Nigeria.

 

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), as at Wednesday, June 24, 2020, 7,613 have been discharged with 542 deaths.
