Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted an Assistant Superintendent of police in Bauchi State.
This medium gathered that the senior police officer was kidnapped after the terrorists group stormed Toro town, headquarters of Toro local government area of the state.
The gunmen reportedly arrived in the town at about 9pm on Friday with sophisticated weapons which they shot in the air to cause panic.
While reacting to the incident, the Member representing Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ismail Haruna Dabo, condemned the development and called for calm.
He described the incident as unfortunate and assured the people of continued legislative interventions to end the trend.
Meanwhile, Bauchi police command is yet to issue a statement in respect to the development.
