The new leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), under the headship of its National Chairman, Chief Edozie Njoku, has paid a courtesy visit to the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) ahead of the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state.
Spokesperson of the APGA team, Mr. Benedict Chinedum Okoro, informed News Band that the visit to ISIEC Chairman was in preparation for Local Government elections in the state.
Chief Njoku, unfortunately, could not join the entourage as he was away in London to take care of some urgent matters.
It could be recalled that the Court of Appeal sitting in Athe Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, had on June 28, 2024, affirmed Njoku as the authentic National Chairman of APGA.
APGA National Secretary, Muhyideen Imam informed this medium that consequent upon the judgement, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) bowed to pressure.
The national electoral umpire finally obeyed the Abuja High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court judgements and recognised Njoku as APGA leader and affirmed same on its website.
