Some unidentified gunmen have, late Friday, assassinated Chief Silas Onyimah, the President General of Umuoji Improvement Union (UIUN), in Anambra State.

In a daunting report published by News Band, Mrs. Okonkwo was accused of setting her town—Umuoji on fire.

She reportedly tried to install her puppet, one Chief Anayo Okoye, as the new traditional ruler following the death of the late Igwe, HRH Cyril Enweze.

The report also accused her of destabilizing the community due to avarice as she sells the community’s ancestral lands.

According to an insider, she worked in cohorts with Chief Onyimah.

Details of his assassination are yet to emerge as police operatives are presently combing his house for evidence.

However, an Umuoji indigene informed this medium that ‘the murder of Onyimah is not unconnected to one of his many underhanded practices.
