Old Aguata union visits gov Obiano, presents plaque of honour in appreciation of his support for Soludo

The whole of the Old Aguata Union was completely shut down on January 2, 2022 when the Igwes including some eminent sons and daughters of the 45 communities that makes up the union paid an appreciation visit to Governor Willie Obiano for supporting their son, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo in the last gubernatorial election held in the state.
The Old Aguata Union (OAU) which is made up of 3 local government areas and 45 communities were led by the Igwes on the appreciation visit to Governor Willie Obiano, (Akpokuodike Aguleri), at his country home in Aguleri, Anambra State
The official presentation of a special “Plaque and Royal Sword” was made on behalf of the contingent by HRH Igwe Peter Ezeamama, Onyia Dike of Enugwu-Umuonyiba to Governor Willie Obiano in the presence of other Igwes, sons and daughters of OAU
The message in the Plaque read: “This gesture is to demonstrate the immeasurable gratitude of the entire people of OAU to Governor Willie Obiano for resolutely supporting our son and brother, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo for Governor”
In a brief remark before the presentation, Governor-elect, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo had commended Governor Willie Obiano for his statesmanly approach in the conduct before, during and even after the election, describing it as unique and rare.
Soludo however reassured the Governor and the people of Anambra State, saying: ” We will work hard every minute of the day to make you and Ndi-Anambra proud for the confidence reposed in me”

Responding, Governor Obiano thanked the OAU Igwes and the people for the kind words said about him and his wife.
He reaffirmed again that his support for Soludo was borne out of the fact that he believed Soludo was the best candidate amongst the other candidates who came out to contest for the election
He again stated that he has no iota of doubt that Soludo would do better than him as his successor in Anambra State
