The governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has dropped a bombshell on his opponents as one of his major traducers, Chief Ifeanyi Godwin Ararume has been suspended by his party, the All Progressives Congress [APC] in his LGA, Isiala Mbano.
ElombahNews gathered that Governor Okorocha could not swallow the bitter pills handed him by Ararume and others during the recently-concluded Imo State APC congresses.
According to our correspondent, Mr Onwuasoanya Jones, the former Senator was suspended due to various acts of indiscipline, anti-party activities and sundry offences.
The Isiebu politician was described by some Party leaders in his LGA as a very bad egg in the party, who must be removed on time to avoid contaminating the entire party.
According to Mr, Joseph Nwachukwu who was in the meeting, “former Senator Ararume is a contaminated politician whose stock in trade is to hijack electoral processes and encourage violence against Party members.
“The APC as a political party cannot afford to accommodate his likes in our Party, especially, now that we are going into the general elections.
“He is detested by the people and his continued presence in our Party would rob us of vital support of the people, especially, here in Isiala Mbano.”
Some of the Party leaders alleged that the Isiebu politician is not known for anything good within Isiala Mbano and other parts of the state.

Hence, his continued membership in the APC makes it more difficult to sell the party to the people.
Ararume, it could be recalled, played a critical role in the state congresses that produced anti-Okorocha party leaders but which saw Governor Okorocha sidelined.
Also affected by the suspension is Chiji Collins who represents Isiala Mbano in the Imo State House of Assembly.
Chiji was described by some of his constituents as a wasted space in the House of Assembly.
He was suspended for ‘gross irresponsibility, incompetence and other acts inimical to continued harmony within the Party’.
Their suspension takes immediate effect.
