Ohanaeze Ndigbo hereby mourn the trio of Col Joe Hannibal Achuzia, Prof Ukwu I Ukwu and Col Mike Okwechime . The three great Igbo men and patriots lived and died in defence of their fatherland.
Col Achuzie, the Hannibal of Biafra was a dogged fighter and committed patriot.His records will remain in the annals of time.
Prof Ukwu I Ukwu was the Head of the Biafran organisation of freedom fighters BOFF and at a point Head of Biafra Militia. He was a consummate intellectual and a Pan Africanist to the core.
Col Mike Okwechime from Ukwuani in Delta state was the Head of Biafran Army Engineers and fought to the Bin Biafra.
We are proud of these great men and their place in history is assured.
