Nigeria Ranked 2nd Worst Electricity Supplying Country
Nigeria has been ranked as the second Worst electricity supplying country, out of 137 countries polled, by the World Economic Forum [WEF].
The ranking came after two years of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2017 which premised its campaign promises on 24/7 electricity supply.
In the poll, Nigeria was worst behind only Yemen, a crises-ridden and war-torn country.
Haiti, Lebanon and Malawi came third, fourth and fifth respectively, according to data provided by The Spectator Index on its Twitter handle @spectatorindex.
Other countries on the list are:
- Venezuela
- Pakistan
- Argentina
- Ethiopia
- Bangladesh
- South Africa
- Sri Lanka
- Algeria
- Philippines
- Turkey
World Economic Forum, based in Cologny-Geneva, Switzerland, was founded in 1971 as a not-for-profit organization.
It gained formal status in January 2015 under the Swiss Host-State Act, confirming the role of the Forum as an International Institution for Public-Private Cooperation.
