Dr Yusuf Datti Baba, the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 elections, has said that Nigeria has no president-elect.

Recall that the former Lagos governor (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) has been in the eye of the storm after he was controversially declared the president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission despite obvious irregularities that marred the entire process.

Obi had previously challenged the outcome of the election and had also sought the court requesting to have access to all the sensitive materials Independent National Electoral Commission deployed for the election.

On Tuesday, the Labour Party candidate filed another suit at the election tribunal challenging the declaration of Tinubu by INEC who he said “was not duly elected by the majority of the lawful votes cast at the time of the election.”

The former Anambra State governor claimed there was rigging in 11 states including Rivers, Lagos, Taraba, Benue, Adamawa, Imo, Bauchi, Borno, Kaduna, and Plateau, adding that he would demonstrate this in the declaration of results based on the uploaded results.

However, Dr Datti while speaking on the development when he appeared on Arise Television morning show said, “We cannot have a president-elect when there has been a constitutional breach. There’s a clear interpretation of section 134 and INEC’s interpretation of section 134.

“Asiwaju Tinubu is no president-elect, what he holds is a dud certificate that has no value.

“Swearing in Tinubu is an assault on the constitution, swearing in Tinubu is as good as swearing in a military regime,” he said.
