Vice President Kamala Harris is ahead of former President Donald Trump in the key battleground states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, according to a new New York Times/Siena College poll.
The poll found Harris beating Trump 50% to 46% among likely voters in all three states, though those leads are within the survey’s margins of error. Likely voters are a subset of the entire pool of registered voters surveyed.
The new findings come after a booming start to Harris’ campaign since President Joe Biden pulled out of the race last month, with the vice president raising over $300 million and her crowd sizes at rallies topping 10,000 people.
She also embarked on a mult-state battleground blitz Tuesday with her new running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, starting in Pennsylvania.
The two held events in Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona this week.
The margin of sampling error among likely voters was plus or minus 4.8 percentage points in Michigan, plus or minus 4.2 points in Pennsylvania and plus or minus 4.3 points in Wisconsin, the report added.

Democratic U.S. President Joe Biden ended his reelection bid on July 21 and endorsed Harris for the Nov. 5 vote against Trump after a bad debate performance against Trump in late June.
Harris’ takeover has re-energized a campaign that had faltered badly amid Democrats’ doubts about Biden’s chances of defeating Trump or his ability to continue to govern had he won.
