Minister erred over NBET

Our correspondent observed that the statement for the sack of Amobi which emanated from the Minister of Power , Sale Mamman is of no substance because NBET is not under the supervision of Ministry of Power.

The letter in possession of our correspondent, which was done last night, showed that Minister of Finance told the NBET Managing Director that her tenure will not be renewed.

A source close to Ministry of Power told our correspondent that the Minister of Power has violated Civil Service rules because NBET is no longer under his supervision, but under the Ministry of Finance.

Elombah.com recalled that in December 2019, the Minister of Power sacked NBET DG, but the sack was reversed by President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2020.

Buhari also moved the NBET which was under Ministry of Power to Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planing under the supervision of Ahmed Zainab.

See the attached press release from Ministry of Power below:

Office of the Minister of Power's statement on the Appointment of Dr. Nnaemeka Eweluka as the substantive MD/CEO for the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET).
Office of the Minister of Power stated that President Buhari approved the recommendation of the Hon. Minister of Power Engr, Sale Mamman for the Appointment of Dr. Nnaemeka Eweluka as the substantive MD/CEO for the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET).
