My husband is a disciplined man, didn’t harass Natasha sexually — Akpabio’s wife
Mrs. Ekaette Akpabio, the wife of Nigerian Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has refuted allegations of sexual harassment leveled against her husband by the lawmaker representing Kogi Central at the National Assembly, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing them as false and unfounded.
While addressing newsmen on Friday, Mrs. Akpabio stood by her husband, describing him as a principled and cheerful man who treats women with respect.
News Band reported that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan while speaking on Arise Television on Friday, had claimed that her difficulties in the Senate started after she allegedly turned down sexual advances from Akpabio.
In response, Mrs. Akpabio dismissed the accusations, stating that the two families had shared a cordial relationship long before Senator Natasha’s marriage.
Mrs. Ekaette Akpabio also noted that she was present at their home on December 8, 2023, the date of the alleged incident.
Highlighting her husband’s history of advocating for women’s inclusion in politics, Mrs. Akpabio reiterated his commitment to supporting women in leadership roles, even before his current position as Senate President.
She cautioned against false accusations and revealed plans to pursue legal action regarding the claims.
