My apologies for keeping you in suspense for long. I waited for so long so I could furnish you with up-to-the-minute news from Mumusville.

As you’re already aware, the ethnic groups of Mumusville are diverse. They are separate, hostile, and unequal. So are the forms of ethnic conflicts they confront daily since Mumusville gained independence a century ago from their colonial masters – the Barbarians. Given the confused and conflicted makeup of the ethnic groups, the political history of Mumusville is written in turmoil, blood, mutinies, riots, and terrorism. Mumusville is home to internal disruptions: armed collective violence, separatists’ rebellions, terrorist invasion, crushing poverty, and religious pandemic.

BJ, as I write, the biggest violence facing the Mumusvillians is Democides. Democides are state-organized or incited mass killings of political opponents, dissidents, and critics by their government. The outgoing monster of Mumusville, General Dangerfield introduced and supervised genocides. He did it to destroy the culture, tradition, and religion, of other tribes other than his own. The life of General Dangerfield began in turbulence and ended in turmoil. It’s a case of a dying tyrant ruling over a dying regime.

The news of the departure of General Dangerfield hits Mumusvillians like a ton of bricks. General Danger- Field’s reign was the darkest period in Mumusville history.  Despite the evils during his reign, Mumusvillians wept openly for the old despot. Millions of Mumusvillians took to the streets to pay their respects to statues and portraits of General Dangerfield. The outpouring of love for Dangerfield has been fervent and widespread. Mumusvillians sincerely feel the loss of their great general. Wailing Mumusvillians, drenched in tears, mourn the end of a brutal era.

They refrained from shopping, recreation, and even laughing as the country remembers General Dangerfield. Men, women, and children are swept along a wave of uncontrollable hysteria. As they sob profusely, they questioned the departure of the monster general: “How and why must our benevolent general leave us at this critical time?” To Mumusvillians, the departure of Dangerfield is a terrible mixture of fear, terror, and apprehension about their future. No doubt, Dangerfield will be hard to replace. General Dangerfield’s parting words to Mumusvillians were short and direct: “It’s been eight years. The screams of the dead, the lamentations of the hungry, the cries of the homeless, the groans of the sick, the curses of the unemployed, and the weeping of retirees for which I am responsible, will forever haunt me. I’ve got blood on my hands. But I owe no Mumusvillian any apology. I have fulfilled all my promises to you. I wait for my place in the halls of the damned. And if I could come back as your general, I’d do it all over again. I’ll kill every last one of the bastard Mumusvillians.”  With teary eyes and sick smiles, Mumusvillians bid farewell to General Dangerfield.

BJ, summer is almost upon us. Mumusvillians hope their winter of discontent will usher in a glorious summer. Until next time…

Be safe. Take good care of yourself. God blesses!

Warmly,

JB
