The Ministry of Aviation, through the Ministry of Transportation, has made clarifications on the discrepancies surrounding the national carrier “Nigeria Air” which was recently unveiled.
The Aviation Ministry was responding to an FoI request by Dr. George Uboh, the chairman of George Uboh Whistleblowers Network [GUWN].
In the 3-page facts response, the Director II, Planning Research and Statistics, Mr. Stephen Okon, on behalf of the Honourable Minister of State for Aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika exponded on the $300 million paid by the federal government in the transaction.
He reiterated that 5% stake in Nigeria Air worth $300 million is for the federal government but that no money has so far been paid or received by the affected parties.
He clarified further that the $300 million worth stake is as yet a mere proposal and that it will span into three years – 2018 to 2020.

And the Minister of State Aviation, as reported in July 25, 2018, dailies, has come out to join issues in denying such report.
