Metele: Soldiers Killed By Boko Haram Buried, Army Chiefs Absent [Photos]

The twenty-three soldiers who mostly died when Boko Haram terrorist attacked a military formation in Metele have been laid to rest in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State,.

However, contrary to Army headquarters claim that only twenty-three soldiers were killed, reports say that  as much as over 70 soldiers died that day.

Other sources claim that more than 100 army officers were killed in that single attack.

It was, however, observed that all superior officers of the Army, including the Chief of Army Staff [COAS], Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai and the Chief of Defence Staff [CDS], General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, were absent.

Also absent were the Minister for Defence [MOD], Mansur Muhammad Dan Ali, and the National Security Adviser [NSA], Mohammed Babagana Monguno.

The Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari  was also not present as a mark of respect of the fallen soldiers.
