The Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in next week’s elections, Obinna Ichita has faulted the recently announced mass promotion in Abia State civil service by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

The APGA guber running mate described the offer as a ploy to harvest electoral votes from unsuspecting Abia civil servants.

Ichita, who stated this in Umuahia during a press conference, said the mass promotion as approved by Governor Ikpeazu was not feasible as according to him, sincerity and background to actualise the promotions were not in place.

He wondered why a government that did not allegedly pay months-old salaries and leave allowances of workers, could implement the promotions in Abia State civil service.

He advised Abia civil servants against voting for a candidate that would further deepen their travails.

Ichita who cried out that some unknown faces had been sighted in his Aba South constituency in the build-up to the guber and House of Assembly polls, said he had already reported the matter to the appropriate security agency.

The fiery lawmaker stated that the unknown faces were allegedly imported into his constituency for the purpose of rigging the March 18 elections but cautioned that the people will not allow the manipulation of their will.

The Aba South lawmaker who described the candidate of his party, Prof Greg Ibe as the best option for the liberation of Abia State, bemoaned the conditions of God’s own State.
