Manchester City has recently concluded its hearing regarding the alleged 115 breaches of Premier League financial rules.

According to a report by Mail Online, a three-member panel will now review all evidence before delivering a verdict in the coming months.

This significant development marks “The Trial of the Century,” pitting the reigning champions against the Premier League

The hearing concluded with the final arguments presented last Friday, bringing the case one step closer to resolution.

Manchester City officials, including manager Pep Guardiola, face serious accusations related to financial misconduct.

Specifically, they stand accused of 115 breaches of Financial Fair Play regulations, alongside claims of failing to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

These allegations primarily stem from a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018, during which the defending champions reportedly engaged in various rule violations.

However, Manchester City firmly denied all accusations, maintaining that they are innocent of any wrongdoing.

As the case progresses, the potential for appeals looms large. If an agreement remains elusive, either party might resort to appealing the decision.

Consequently, if the battle extends beyond this year, a final verdict could potentially be delayed until the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.

Should Manchester City be found guilty, the repercussions may be severe.

Reports indicate that they could face substantial financial penalties, a points deduction, or even relegation within the English football hierarchy. Each of these consequences could drastically impact the club’s future.

When asked about his commitment to the club in the event of relegation, Guardiola, who recently signed a two-year contract extension, addressed the issue head-on.

He stated, “You are questioning like we have been punished. And in the moment, we are innocent until guilt is proved.”

He further added, “I know the people want it. I know, I feel it. I will wait. Wait and see it and after the sentence has been done, we will come here and explain it. “I refuse to base my future on whether I’m in the Premier League or League One.. Absolutely.”

Overall, the outcome of this hearing could reshape Manchester City’s future and set crucial precedents in the landscape of English football.
