Ohanaeze Ndigbo Will Continue To Promote Igbo Language And Authors Of Igbo Language

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Barr Nnia Nwodo has once again re-iterated the determination of the apex Igbo body to promote Igbo language and culture. He also vowed to support authors of Igbo books and literature. He stated this at the presentation of two books on Igbo culture and an Igbo language newspaper Ikoro Igbo written by Prof Okonkwo, the SA on Igbo matters to Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha at Imo Conference centre , Owerri on Wednesday 21st February , 2018.
Barr called on Ndigbo to protect their language and culture from extinction and congratulated Prof Okonkwo for putting down to posterity the rare works, The Imo state Governor Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha was attended the event with a retinue of his officials lauded the works by Prof Okonkwo and called on Ndigbo to support such initiative.Others at the event included Prof Pita Ejiofor of Subakwa Igbo, Prof Peter Nwanna , the surviving scion of the Nwanna family of Arochukwu whose patriarch wrote Omenuko , the first Igbo language literature in 1930, the Eze Imo HRH Eze Ohiri, the National Deputy Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo world wide Chuks Ibegbu , the Imo state President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo world wide Dr Ezechi, Engr Cletus Amaraegbu former SA on Igbo matters to Imo state Governor and many other VIPs.
There were dancing groups from all Igbo states at the event.
In another development Youth leaders of major Nigerian ethnic nationality groups will meet at Enugu this weekend to brainstorm on security and political challenges in the country.The meeting holding under the auspices of the Almagamated Nigerian Ethnic Nationality Youth leaders will feature prominent Youth leaders of Arewa, Yoruba, Igbo , Niger Delta and middle belt. They will roll out a road map for security and peace in the country as well as take far reaching decisions on 2019 political challenges. The spokesman of the groups Mohammed Aminu stated that the youths of the nation are critical factors in the peace and unity of the country.
Also the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria, COCSON has again warned nepotic and self serving politicians to remove themselves from the political space before 2019 or they would be flushed out then.
The National President of the group Chuks Ibegbu stated this when the group officially named its national secretariate in Abuja , Dr Alex Ekwueme Place. Ibegbu called on President Mohammadu Buhari to ensure that those who looted Nigeria treasury are prosecuted to the last. He wondered why top military officers and politicians would steal the commonwealth of the people and awarded phoney contracts to their girlfriends , wives, children and hangers on while soldiers are dying daily in the North East, ill equipped and under fed.
Ibegbu condemned underaged voting in Kano and called on President Buhari to get to the root of the matter else there will be no election in 2019 .
