Officers from the Anti-Car Theft Section apprehended two suspects, Ibrahim Abubakar and Surakatu Usman, in the Mando area.

The suspects admitted to attacking victims with sledgehammers or strangling them with cables before stealing their motorcycles.

Further investigations led to the arrest of their accomplice, Yahya Muhammad, who facilitated the sale of the stolen motorcycles.

Three TVS motorcycles were recovered in connection with the case.

Acting on intelligence, police and military personnel launched a joint operation against Kajuru bandits on February 2, 2025. The team advanced into Doka Village’s bush area that same day.

There, security forces confronted armed bandits attempting to relocate hostages to Kajuru Forest.

Following a fierce exchange, the injured assailants quickly fled the scene.

In a coordinated operation, security forces rescued 23 captives abducted from Kauru LGA.

Authorities located and liberated the group, ending their captivity swiftly and safely.”

Meanwhile, on January 23, 2025, Anti-Car Theft officers arrested notorious thief Abubakar at Kaduna’s Water Suit Hotel. They recovered a stolen Toyota Yaris linked to Kano.

During interrogation, Abubakar admitted to repeated car thefts and prior imprisonment. He now awaits prosecution as investigations conclude.

Commending these wins, Commissioner Rabiu vowed to crush criminal networks. “Kaduna is no longer a criminal haven,” he declared. “We will boost intelligence, response, and inter-agency collaboration.”

He further urged residents to aid security efforts: “Safety is a shared duty. With timely tips, we can build a safer Kaduna.”

These strides highlight the police command’s resolve to uphold order and protect citizens amid intensified anti-crime measures.
