Kaduna Dep Gov-Elect, Hadiza Inaugurates Herself Without El-Rufai

The Kaduna State deputy governor-elect, Dr. Mrs. Hadiza Balarabe has initiated her own inauguration as Governor Nasir El-Rufai and his outgoing deputy, Arch Barnabas Bantex, were conspicuously absent.
The deputy governor-elect, on Tuesday, inaugurated the Kaduna State Transition Committee at the Council Chamber of the Government House Kaduna State.
The Hadiza is also part of the Committee she inaugurated and chairs.
Mrs. Balarabe had to take up the onerous task to inaugurate the Committee as both the governor and his outgoing deputy who should have performed the task were not available.
It is worthy to note that the deputy governor-elect is yet to be sworn-in.
Last week, news filtered in that Governor El-Rufai had an accident on his way back to Kaduna from Abuja.
The opposition Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] claimed that he had the accident after he visited President Muhammadu Buhari.
The purpose of the visit, according to PDP, was to discuss modalities to rig the supplementary election coming up in Kano, Bauchi and some other states.
His driver was also declared dead in the purported accident.

The governor, however, had debunked the story both on his Twitter and Facebook accounts, saying:
“I woke up after a rare 8-hour bout of deep sleep to learn that some bigotry-driven, PDP-affiliated fake news platform has declared my driver dead and my humble self in coma.
“Both claims are false. I thank them for reducing the days in their lives and adding them to mine.
“I remain their permanent nightmare and not about to disappear from their wretched and corrupt lives any time soon by the Grace of Almighty Allah, until they are permanently retired and buried.”
Since that alleged incident, however, EL-Rufai is yet to be seen in public, thereby fueling speculation as to the authenticity of the accident story.
The strongest indication, meanwhile, is his failure to inaugurate the Kaduna State Transition Committee which task was performed by the deputy governor-elect, Mrs. Hadiza Balarabe.
