JUST IN: S’Court throws out Ihedioha’s suit seeking to sack Uzodinma as gov
The Supreme Court has struck out a petition lodged by Emeka Ihedioha, a former governor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State seeking a certificate of return as the duly elected governor of the state.
Ihedioha had told the apex court that governor Hope Uzodinma was not qualified to run for the election in the first place, adding that the court had previously designated Uche Nwosu as the lawful candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Supreme Court headed by Justice Tijjani Abubakar while ruling on the suit, dismissed the motion for lack of merit, describing it as superfluous and vexatious.
It further awarded the cost of N40 million against Mike Ozekhome for bringing the matter before the court.
