Comrade Philip Shaibu, Edo deputy governor has been impeached by the State House of Assembly on Monday.
The impeachment followed the adoption of the report of the seven-man investigative committee constituted by the Assembly to probe allegations of misconduct against Shaibu.
On Thursday, the panel headed by Justice S.A Omonuwa (retd.) issued Shaibu a last chance to appear the following day, to defend why he should not be impeached.
The impeachment proceedings, which were initiated earlier this week, culminated in a dramatic vote that saw Shaibu removed from his position.
