The Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Wazirin Tambuwal and other aspirants at the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2019 Presidential Primaries have been urged to join forces with winner, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to oust incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari at the general elections next year.

The call was made by the PDP @ Your Door Campaign in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, issued to newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday.

“Now that a candidate accepted by majority from our great party has emerged, we appeal to other aspirants for the love of the party and our great country Nigeria, to surrender their structures for the greater good so that Nigerians would heave a sigh of relief as we escort our President, Muhammadu Buhari to Daura on May 29, to commence a well-deserved rest,” it stated.

The group hailed all the presidential aspirants for putting up a good fight and the spirit of sportsmanship exhibited through the congratulating of the winner.

“All our great aspirants, you are all winners. Together, all of us would be winners by God’s grace in 2019,” it stated.

PDP @ Your Door Campaign Forum also congratulated the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus and the National Working Committee (NWC) for hosting a successful convention that would be forever envied by other parties.

“We are proud that our great party has yet again proved to be the number one promoter of democracy in Nigeria and by extension Africa.

“The free, fair and transparent manner our primaries were held should be a marking scheme for the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government ahead of the 2019 general elections.

“They should not be ashamed to learn from such template, instead of taking our democracy 20 years back with experiences like Osun and Ekiti still fresh on our minds,” it added.

The group also charged Nigerians to keep faith with the party even as it gets set to change the economic woes being experienced into positive tales of a flourishing socioeconomic reality.

While congratulating Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the group reminded him that the hopes of about 200 million Nigerians were on him, hence he should start bracing up to lead the nation come 2019.
