The election at the polling unit of the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, representing Ifo Constituency 1 has been declared inconclusive.

The returning officer of the election, Prof. Olusegun Onabanjo, said Oluomo, a candidate of the All Progressives Congress, had a total of 7,379 votes while his closest rival, Ogundele Okikiola of the Peoples Democratic Party, polled 6411, and Wemimo Owolabi of the African Democratic Congress polled 3207 votes.

The returning officer said, “Due to over-voting observed in unit 04 of ward one, the election is hereby declared inconclusive.”

The affected polling unit is the unit of the state Chairman of the PDP, Sikirulah Ogundele, whose son, Okikiola, is also the PDP candidate for the constituency.
