The Imo State University (IMSU) in Owerri has announced that it has set up a committee to investigate the authenticity of the footage featuring the Head of Department of Biochemistry, Prof. Emmanuel Agumuo in a sex-for-mark video.
IMSU Public Relations Officer, Ralph Obinjoku disclosed this to journalists, saying the management will not treat the matter lightly.
A video circulating on the Internet shows Prof. Agumuo allegedly having sex with ones of his students in a hotel room.

Agumuo was seen arrested and handcuffed by plain-clothed security men in the video footage.
According to multiple sources, the don, had allegedly collected N150,000 as bribe from the student, and also demanded sex to give her passable grades.
One of the sources said the female student approached her Head of the Department dissatisfied with her result.
The HoD demanded N150,000 bribe and yet demanded sex from her after she paid, despite her please that she is about to get married.

Reacting, the institution said that it had set up a committee to investigate the authenticity or otherwise of the video allegedly involving one of its lecturers.
Obinjoku, speaking on behalf of the institution, assured that the don would not be spared by the management if found culpable.
He told Punch: “We just rose from an expanded management meeting and I want to tell you that a committee has been set up to investigate the authenticity or otherwise of the nude video, which had one of our lecturers.
“The university is not taking the development for granted and the vice-chancellor has asked the committee to do a thorough job.
“Our university does not tolerate sex-for-mark or any act that lowers the excellent academic standard of our citadel of learning.”
