Igbo Restructuring Summit: Ohanaeze Thank Ndigbo, Nigerians

PRESS RELEASE

The Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation Ohanaeze Ndigbo hereby thank Ndigbo for turning out en masse for the Igbo Summit on Restructuring which was held at Awka , Anambra state on 21st May, 2018.

The mammoth attendance by all major stakeholders in Igbo land and other progressive Nigerians is a testimony that Ndigbo and Nigerians want the nation Restructured.

We are appreciative of the role of the Anambra state Governor Willie Obiano in the successful hosting of the event. We appreciate the attendance by high level delegation from the middle belt, South West, South South and progressives from the far North.

We re-iterate that only a progressive Restructuring of Nigeria will bring about the much needed progress and prosperity in the country.

Once again we call on our youths in pro Biafran groups to appreciate our position and efforts.

If our efforts bear the desired fruit , then it shall be well with the Igbo nation.

We shall continue to be partners in our common goal of bettering the lives of Ndigbo  and other Nigerians  and ensuring a just, equitable Nigeria nation.

Their anger and agitations over the injustices in Nigeria is no doubt in the front burner and need to be attended to not by sheer force but by a fatherly engagement by the authorities.

We wish Nigerians a happy Democracy day, but insist that Democracy can only be meaningful if the political, economic and social rights of the citizens are assured.
