The Senator representing Anambra South and National Leader of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Tuesday, appreciated the founder of Sir Emeka Offor Foundation and Chief Executive Officer of Chrome Group, Sir. Dr. Emeka Offor.

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah lauded Sir Offor for his philanthropy and giant strides towards promotion of people’s wellbeing.

Senator Ubah made the remarks during the commissioning of an ultramodern hall donated to Rotary International, a worldwide charitable society of business and professional people by Sir Offor at the Rotary International District 9125 Center, Abuja.

Speaking at the event, Senator Ubah said that the contributions of Sir. Dr. Emeka Offor popularly known as Sir. E for the betterment of humanity cannot be overemphasized.

The chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Ltd. recounted how Offor contributed over 3.5 million United States Dollars to Rotary programmes and donated medical equipment and books worth over 30 million United States Dollars to hospitals and academic institutions in Nigeria.

He also applauded his philanthropic gesture to other African countries on the heels of the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic.

The YPP National Leader also commended Sir Offor for the uncommon efforts he made to ensure that Wild Polio Virus is defeated in this part of the world.

Sir Offor, he noted, has indeed created a legacy that should be emulated by every prominent citizen across Nigeria and the world at large.

He, therefore, urged other elites to emulate such gesture in order to make the nation a better place.

Speaking further, the Anambra South Senator recalled how he was in 2016, inducted into Rotary Club International District 9140 as an AKAS member.

He commended the organization for its relentless efforts in saving the world from various health crises.

He reassured the audience that he will always champion legislative actions that will support the betterment of humanity and development of human capital.

Senator Ubah also maintained that apart from using the instruments of his office, he will always encourage prominent citizens to support actions that will better the wellbeing of the people.

Recall that following the outbreak of the new Corona Virus in Nigeria in 2020, the YPP National Leader convened over 420 billionaires under the umbrella of Anambra Progressives and Development Union to support the government in its efforts in fighting the pandemic.

Within a period of ten months afterwards, the group constructed and handed over two ultramodern medical and isolation centers to the management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Noteworthy is the fact that Sir Offor is also a member of the group.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Rotary District 9125 Governor, Dr. Victor C. Onukwugha thanked Sir. Offor for his uncommon philanthropic acts and contributions to the organization/.

Dr. Onukwugha reassured Nigerians that Rotary will always put in efforts to support humanity.

He also used the opportunity to thank Senator Ubah and all Rotarians in the country for their contributions towards achieving the objectives of the organization and urged them to keep on keeping on.

Responding, Emeka Offor thanked Rotary for not relenting in supporting humanity.

He further appreciated the organization for its giant efforts towards bringing major bringing major health crises across various parts of the world to an end.

The Chrome Group Chief Executive Officer reassured them that he will continue to put in his best to better humanity and promote people’s wellbeing.

Also present at the heavily attended event were former Nigerian Senate President, Ken Nnamani, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babagana Kingibe, Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah, former Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku, AIG Chris Ezike, Hon. Tony Nwoye, and a host of other dignitaries.
