A sociopolitical group, Abia North Peace Foundation (ANPF), has alleged a plot by the member representing Isikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha to assassinate the Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

In a statement signed by its Director General, Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu and other senior officials, the group claimed that it had credible intelligence that a plot was being hatched to eliminate the former Abia State governor before the 2023 presidential election.

The group in the statement stated: “ANPF is strongly and unmistakably raising alarm and alerting the world especially the office of the Inspector General of Police; Director of the Department of State Services; that the life, safety and liberty of Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, are in grave danger.

The group said Onyejeocha in connivance with some PDP members had allegely hired the services of cultists to unleash terror in Abia North Senatorial District and in the process target Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for elimination.

The statement said the cultists allegedly hired for the assassination include the notorious supreme Vikings squad from Arochukwu and the dreaded Black Axe in Isuochi.

“Onyejeocha is trying so hard to stop Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu ahead of the 2023 general elections because of her ambition to emerge as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. ANPF understands that Onyejeocha is pushing so hard to de-markert Kalu before some top APC leaders in order for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu not to emerge as the next Senate President; having failed woefully, Onyejeocha formed alliance with the PDP in Abia North to stop Kalu but with Kalu’s outstanding performance making it difficult for the PDP, Onyejeocha is now plotting to assassinate him. We are warning her now to desist from her antics or she would face the full wrath of the entire Abia North people.”
